Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Australia -
Music therapy is a form of therapy that uses music as the tool for communication, change, transformation and healing or well-being. This can benefit children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities, trauma, mental health problems, depression and medical illnesses, as well as learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
NRMTA work with children with developmental disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Rett Syndrome and Angelman Syndrome and disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Dyspraxia and Spina Bifida.
Thorndale Foundation -
On Friday 21stSeptember 2012 Thorndale celebrated the opening of Carinya Cottage. Thorndale’s first purpose built group home for 5 residents with intellectual disability. These residents have lived with Thorndale at Orchard Hills for over 30 years and will now have the opportunity to live in the community in a home especially built for their needs. Carinya was designed and built by Zac Homes we worked with our trades to reduce the costs of building and Peter Zaccazan presented Thorndale with $100,000 donation.
The cottage was officially opened by The Hon Andrew Constance MP, Minister for Ageing & Minister for Disability
Rotary clubs exist to improve communities through a range of humanitarian, intercultural and educational activities. Clubs advance international understanding by partnering with clubs in other countries. Rotary also encourages high ethical standards in all vocations.
ZAC Homes supports Roatary through various different events including, golf days and the Rotary Race Day held at Rosehill Race Course.
